A look at a blind spot experiment on my eyes

In dim light, the receptors in your eyes called rods are doing most of the work. Now, close your left eye and with your right eye look at the letter A. So if you look "off-center" at the star, its image will fall on an area of the retina that has more rods!

Bring the card closer to your face, focussing on the dot but also seeing the cross. This is the blind spot circled in red. To bring an image into sharp focus on the retina, the lens of the eye changes shape by bulging out or flattening.
